The process and final concept behind The North Carolina Broadcast History Museum branding.
Real Radio. Real History.
The Breakdown
The goal of this project was to design a logo that honors the rich history of radio in North Carolina and the people who were part in creating it. The logo needed to incorporate elements related to radio with a timeless aesthetic. The CEO of Beasley aimed to establish a visual identity for a website and committee dedicated to this hisorical archive.
The primary challenge was to somehow translate the rich history of radio into a logo that felt timeless rather than dated and tired. This was achieved was by selecting a color palette of muted tones that evoke a vintage feel while also conveying a sense of depth and richness. The choice of typography played a significant role; by combining classic and modern typefaces, the logo maintains a balance of historical reverence and contemporary relevance. This blend ensures the logo feels established and dignified without appearing old-fashioned.
